• A renown Cardiologist, hails from a respectable family in Pondicherry / Arcot District.

• He Graduated from Madras Medical College. He did his MD in General Medicine from Stanley Medical College Chennai and DM in Cardiology from Madras Medical College Chennai.

• He underwent special training in Interventional Cardiology at Sree Chitra Tirumal Institute of Medical Sciences and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.

• He Underwent intensive training in Interventional Cardiology at North Memorial Medical Center, U.S.A.

• He Served as Chief Cardiologist in Seahorse Hospital (formerly known as Advanced Medical Care hospital) Trichy, Tamil Nadu.

• He is presently a Professor of Cardiology in the University Teaching Hospital. As an astute teacher, he has organized many ECG workshop and taught many students, General practitioners, Para-medical staffs. He is Interested in Interventional Cardiology, particularly, primary P.C.I. for acute Myocardial infauction. He does all Valvular balloon intervention Cell occlusion of P.D.A. Umbrella closure of V.S.D. and A.S.D. (Non-surgical closure of septal defects). He has implanted many permanent Pacemakers and runs a special Pacemaker clinic working together with another Cardiologist Dr.Sumathi Elangovan, which enhances the patient care.

• With 20 years of practice in Cardiology, he has established a centre for Interventional Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery in the present hospital.
